The vast majority of tools on ToolForge run entirely in your browser: your files, images, and text are processed locally and are never uploaded to our servers. A small number of tools necessarily contact external services to work — for example, network utilities (IP lookup, DNS lookup, WHOIS, ping, redirect tracing, website status checks) send the domain, URL, or request you enter to the relevant public API, and the currency converter fetches live exchange rates. Where a tool contacts an external service, its page says so and names the service.
