Image Watermark Tool
Add text or logo watermarks to photos online free
About the Image Watermark Tool
Sharing images on the web without any attribution is an invitation for them to be reused without credit. A watermark — whether a copyright line of text or a small logo in the corner — ties the image back to its creator even after it has been downloaded, screenshotted, or reposted. The Image Watermark Tool applies text or image watermarks to photos directly in your browser, with controls for position, opacity, scale and rotation, and outputs the result as a clean download with no extra branding added.
Photographers use it to protect portfolio shots before sending them to clients for approval, adding a semi-transparent name in the bottom-right corner so the image is viewable but not print-ready. Small businesses use it to stamp a logo on product photos before publishing them to an online store or social media, deterring unauthorized use. The tool processes multiple images in one run and bundles the results in a ZIP — so a batch of 20 product photos can all be watermarked with the same settings and downloaded together.
Switch between Text Watermark and Image Watermark with a single click. For text, configure the font family, size, color, bold, italic, opacity, rotation (0–360°) and a nine-point anchor grid (top-left through bottom-right) with fine-grained X and Y offsets. For an image watermark, upload a logo PNG, set its scale relative to the base image width, and place it anywhere on the same nine-point grid. All watermarking happens on a canvas in your browser; your photos are never uploaded.

Why Use ToolForge’s Image Watermark Tool
- Nine-point anchor grid with pixel-level offset control gives precise placement without needing to calculate coordinates manually.

- Batch processing — watermark an entire folder of photos with identical settings and download them all as one ZIP.
- Browser-only processing with no upload: original high-resolution photos stay on your device even while being watermarked.
Frequently Asked Questions
What opacity setting makes a watermark visible but not distracting?
A value between 30% and 50% is the most common range for protecting images while keeping the subject clearly visible. At 50% the watermark is obvious but not harsh. Below 20% it may be too easy to clone-stamp out in an image editor. For preview watermarks you want to be clearly unremovable, 70–80% opacity is more appropriate.
Can I watermark a transparent PNG with a logo?
Yes — upload the PNG and choose Image watermark mode, then upload your logo. The output preserves the original file type (PNG for PNG sources), keeping any existing transparency intact.
What font families are available for text watermarks?
The tool provides seven system fonts: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, Georgia, Verdana, Courier New and Impact. These are standard fonts guaranteed to render consistently across browsers without needing a font download.
Is my image uploaded to a server when I watermark it?
No. All watermarking is done on an HTML5 canvas in your browser. Your photos are read from local memory and the watermarked result is saved back to your device as a local download. No data is transmitted to any server.
